Island Farms Victoria Day Parade
On May 21st, over 120,000 spectators watch this popular event - in person and through the television - as it progresses along Douglas Street. This is Victoria's largest parade event, complete with marching bands, floats, clowns, and more. It starts from Mayfair Mall at approximately 9 am and will move downtown, finishing at the intersection of Douglas and Humboldt.

Diamond Jubilee Open House
To celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee, Lieutenant Governor Steven Point hosts an open house on Monday, May 21 from 2pm to 4pm. The event kicks-off in front of Government House with the unveiling of a new bronze statue of Sir James Douglas by renowned sculptor Armando Barbon. Following the statue unveiling, the doors to Government House open to the public. His Honour will greet visitors as they arrive and invite everyone to tour the main floor, view the Diamond Jubilee exhibit, enjoy tea and refreshments and be entertained by the Naden Band of Maritime Forces Pacific.
