Langley man arrested for allegedly breaking into elderly couple’s apartment

By Staff Reporter, The Province September 15, 2013A Langley man alleged to have broken into an elderly couple’s apartment was arrested Saturday after a tipster notified police he was hiding out in an apartment on the same block.
Brody Alexander Muncey was arrested Saturday, just one day after police went public with the manhunt, after investigators were tipped off by an alert citizen. It appeared Muncey was residing in an apartment located in the 5300 block of 206th Street, just steps from where the break-and-enter took place.
RCMP arrived on site and as a precaution, evacuated some residents from neighbouring units before calling in the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team.
A short standoff took place but after a few minutes, Muncey was arrested without further incident.
“We are very pleased with the response to this crime by this crime by the members of the Langley RCMP,” said Insp. Murray Power. “Their efforts were supported by Lower Mainland support sections including the Forensic Identification Section, Police Dog Services, and the Emergency Response Team and ensured a timely, efficient investigation.”
Muncey will be held in custody until his next court appearance to face charges of break and enter and unlawful confinement. The man was also found to be the subject of outstanding warrants issued for robbery and use of an imitation firearm.
Muncey’s co-accused in the break-and-enter is Shawne Isinger, 36 of Langley, and he was located by RCMP earlier this week and arrested. He also remains in custody.
